The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that K.C. Sexton, rider of Guildhall Graduate, weighed in at 1.1 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had a drink of water after weighing out and his pad picked up sweat during the race which may have accounted for the over weight. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that K.C. Sexton was in breach of Rule 231 and having taken his clean record into account, cautioned him on this occasion.

243C Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice H'dle

Josh Williamson, rider of Local News, trained by Richard Hennessy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped a wing and hit a doll between the third and second last.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident between the third last and second last hurdles involving Local News, ridden by Josh Williamson, placed third, Diamond Du Berlais (FR), ridden by B. Hayes, placed first, and Pets Georgina, ridden by J.J. Slevin, placed fourth where it appeared Local News went the wrong side of a doll on the inner. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Josh Williamson stated that as he came to the flight he went for a gap between horses when Diamond Du Berlais jumped left. As they headed for the doll after the hurdle they hadn't much time to redirect and his horse was intimidated but there was no contact. After the incident he was unsure whether he should pull up or not and decided to keep riding. B. Hayes stated that his mount went left at the hurdle. He straightened up and they couldn't get back in on time before meeting the doll. He also stated that the camber of the track took them left but he didn't take the room of Local News. J.J. Slevin stated that his horse made a mistake at the hurdle and he wasn't really involved in the incident. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards disqualified Local News under the provisions of Rule 215 and Rule 262 (iv)(b)(horse not running the proper course), ordered the stake forfeited and amended the placings as follows.

1st Diamond Du Berlais
2nd Brother Walfrid
3rd Pets Georgina
4th Don Jefe

Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards found Josh Williamson in breach of Rule 215(i)(not pulling up after his horse ran the wrong side of a doll) and having taken his clean record into account cautioned him on this occasion. The Raceday Stewards also found B. Hayes in breach of Rule 214 (Careless Riding) and having taken his clean record into account suspended him for two race days.
